Web Development: The Complete Overview

What goes into professional web development? Planning, design, technology, launch and maintenance — explained by Adlegio.

A professional website is more than a pretty design. It is a tool that wins customers, simplifies processes and represents your business 24/7. But what does it actually involve?

The 5 phases of web development

1. Planning and strategy

Before a single line of code is written, we clarify: Who do you want to reach? What should the visitor do? What content do you need? A clear concept saves time and money later on.

2. Design and UX

The design shapes the first impression — and that impression decides in under 3 seconds whether a visitor stays or leaves. Good UX design guides users intuitively to their goal: contact form, product page or appointment booking.

3. Development

This is where the design becomes a working system. We use Django (Python) as our framework — the same one used to build Instagram and Spotify. The advantage: security, scalability and a huge community.

4. Testing and launch

Before go-live, we test on different devices, browsers and screen sizes. We check loading times, forms, SEO basics and accessibility.

5. Maintenance and further development

A website is not a project with an end date. Updates, security patches, new content and technical optimisations are part of ongoing operation. That is why we work with a monthly subscription model instead of one-off project fees.

How much does web development cost?

At Adlegio, websites start from €69 per month (one-off setup from €99). Included: hosting, SSL, updates, backups and personal support. Additional features such as a blog, booking system or multilingual content can be added as modules.

Why Django instead of WordPress?

WordPress is a blogging system that is extended with plugins to do all sorts of things. Django is a web framework built from the ground up for complex applications. The difference: security, performance and maintainability.
